The Mad Dash to the Finish Line

Tomorrow is June 1st.
In our house, it's a very exciting yet very tiring time of the year.
In just 2 sleeps, Lucky will turn 5 years old! (he is SOOO excited! Me, not so much! Check out this pic of him at age 3!) AND it means two weeks of school left. We also have a trip to Cedar Point on Friday, along with Lucky's birthday party on Saturday. The next week is dance recital practices and the recital, along with GIZZARDFEST. I remember back in April when I made grand plans to start packing up my room (which was never unpacked due to all the turmoil at school.) Yeah, I've got 5 or so tubs packed, but SO much more to do! Now, life would not be fun or Gorbetastic if there wasn't a challenge to packing. The challenges are:
1. I have NO clue what I'll be teaching next year. Worse case scenario : 5th graders. Sorry 5th graders, I just don't have that much patience.
2. I have JURY DUTY. Seriously. No really. TOTALLY not cool. How fun to make sub plans for the LAST week of school. UGH. Maybe I can do my report cards while waiting?

At least I have a super cute and funny family.
Some recent hilarious words that were heard:

"Aw nuts, right in the guts!" (Lucky coined this phrase while playing war.)
"Mom, will the kindergarten teachers like a funny kid?" Lucky, a bit nervous about starting school next fall.

Should be a frostingtastic week in our house. Hurray for cake!!

WOW, that was a long time!!

So I'm 9 months behind in blogging..geesh, thanks a LOT facebook!
It's been pretty tumultuous (even this 8th grade spelling champ may mess that one up!)year. ..
To say the LEAST..

Work has been insane..too many moves in the district for me and not for the good. With their track record, I'm betting I'll be packing and moving to yet ANOTHER school for next fall.
So far I've experienced these new teaching jobs:
K-10 art teacher for parochial schools
3rd/4th grade split teacher
2nd grade teacher for the lowest kids in the grade.
Pod teaching, which IMO is NOT a good thing....

Gotta say though, for all the crap I've been through, I have a SUPER nice class.
